Jacquemont de Hesdin

   Jacquemont de Hesdin, who worked for the duke jean of berry, imitated in his illuminations the graphism of jean pucelle and was also influenced by the italians. This is apparent in his treatment of depth and space, linear characteristics, and picturesque and anecdotal works. His predilection for refined arabesques are characteristic of the international Gothic style. Jacquemont de Hesdin is the author of Très Belles Heures du duc de Berry (ca. 1402) and Grandes Heures du duc de Berry (ca. 1409), and attributed to him are also the Petites Heures du duc de Berry(commissioned 1372).
